New PlaylistSupply Tool Connects Indie Artists to Real-Time YouTube Playlists
Youtube is still one of the top platforms for music discovery.
It’s always nice to catch up with the team at PlaylistSupply.
They recently released the YouTube Playlist Search Feature. This is for all the indie artists asking: “How do I get my song on Youtube Playlists?”.
Designed with the same innovation that has made PlaylistSupply a leading Spotify playlist search engine, the new feature allows users to conduct real-time searches for YouTube playlists, complete with full playlist data, views from playlist, and contact information for YouTube playlist curators to efficiently submit their music to YouTube playlists.
It’s always fun to see what the team is up to, so I dropped a line over at PlaylistSupply headquarters for more details about the YouTube Playlist tool, and what elese they are working on.
1. What specific challenges or pain-points from manual YouTube playlist outreach did you aim to solve with this feature, and how does the new tool streamline the process for indie artists compared to existing alternatives?
Most indie artists and managers overlook Youtube when they plan a rollout or music marketing. Unless you worked at a major record label or were a music industry veteran you probably thought Youtube is only for “Music Videos” or simply focused all your music marketing on streaming platforms like Spotify or Apple Music.
What these indie artists, bands, and managers don’t realize is that Youtube is still one of the top platforms for music discovery.
If you want to do YouTube playlist outreach, it can easily become one of the messiest and most time-consuming parts of your digital music marketing. Artists until now had to manually dig through YouTube, search for playlists one by one, find the channels behind them, and then hunt for contact info.
This was extremely tedious and had no reliable way to know which playlists were actually worth targeting.
PlaylistSupply’s latest YouTube Playlist Search feature basically removes all of that friction. Instead of manually searching through YouTube, artists can now type in any keyword, genre, mood, activity, niche, and instantly pull up thousands of relevant YouTube playlists in real time.
The tool not only finds the playlists, it also surfaces the curator or YouTube channel contact info so artists can pitch directly for placement on the playlist.
It streamlines the entire discovery to outreach workflow down to just a few clicks. No more manual digging, no more outdated lists, and no more guessing which playlists matter. It finally gives indie artists a legit, efficient way to tap into YouTube’s discovery ecosystem like never before.
Now a strategy that was more or less exclusively used by major labels or music marketers that were “in the know” can be available to any artist.
2. Are there analytics available within the tool, such as playlist views, engagement metrics, or submission outcomes, that help artists prioritize which playlists to target for optimal exposure?
Absolutely! One of the most useful analytics we provide is the “Views” metric you’ll see next to each playlist. This number shows the total views across all videos inside that playlist, meaning it tells you how much actual traffic flows through that playlist’s ecosystem.
This is huge for indie artists, because it lets you instantly see which playlists are active, influential, and worth your time. Instead of blindly pitching, you can prioritize playlists that already have strong organic reach, and are most likely to drive genuine traffic and visibility to your music.
Between the views metric and the ability to save playlists into your personal database, artists can build strategic outreach lists rather than taking random shots in the dark after spending weeks on manual research.
3. With YouTube’s dynamic algorithm and fast-changing content, how does PlaylistSupply ensure the tool remains up-to-date and continues delivering real-time, actionable results for artists and managers?
Everything inside Playlist Supply, including the YouTube Playlist Search feature is powered by real-time data. Rather than pulling from outdated spreadsheets or prebuilt directories, we’ve built a custom API-driven system that fetches playlist data and curator contact information fully in real-time, in the same moment you run a search.
YouTube’s ecosystem changes constantly, channels rebrand, playlists update daily, new curators emerge, contact information changes, so we designed the tool to adapt and mirror that movement completely in real time. Each search an artist does is a live pull, which means you’re always working with the most current and up-to-date data, not data that’s weeks, months, and in some cases years old!
For contact data, we use a mix of automated sourcing and verification. Our system identifies publicly available curator and YouTube channel contact information and then cross-checks it through additional data sources to confirm and verify accuracy.
This real-time approach is the same backbone powering PlaylistSupply’s other features and is the same approach we use across our other platforms as well, Booking-Agent.io and RadioPromo.io.
Our goal has always been to give independent artists the type of reliable, high-quality data that typically only the gatekeepers like labels and large industry teams have access to. Any artist that wants to learn more about our music data tools or try them out can DM us on Instagram to set up a free strategy call or demo.
4. What else is happening over at Playlist Supply headquarters? More tools and solutions in the pipeline as we look ahead to 2026?
A ton! Our team has grown far beyond just PlaylistSupply, and we’re continuing to build tools that make it easier for indie artists to grow their careers on their own terms. From streaming to touring to radio, we’ve been focused on removing music industry gatekeepers through real-time data.
Alongside the expansion of the PlaylistSupply and the YouTube Playlist Search feature, we’re developing a deeper ecosystem around our tools:
Booking-Agent.io has become the go-to platform for artists booking their own shows using real-time venue, talent buyer, and event promoter data.
RadioPromo.io helps artists find radio stations and music programmers worldwide through a real-time search engine built specifically for radio research and outreach.
All three platforms are built on the same mission: giving independent artists access to the kind of data and opportunities that used to be locked behind labels, booking agencies, and big industry players.
And yes, we definitely do have another tool in the works for 2026!. It follows the same philosophy as PlaylistSupply, Booking-Agent.io, and RadioPromo.io, taking another major area of artist promotion and making it accessible, data-driven, and extremely DIY-friendly.
We can’t share specifics just yet, but it’s another step toward creating a full ecosystem where independent artists can grow every part of their career with clarity, strategy, and real-time data!
