Qobuz, Memphis Listening Lab team up on streaming partnership
The Memphis Listening Lab boasts a collection of some 35,000 45 rpm singles, 15,000 vinyl LPs and 25,000 CDs — but now, the music lover’s den at the Crosstown Concourse will have access to more than 100 million tracks in lossless and high-resolution quality thanks to a new partnership with streaming service Qobuz.
Qobuz outfitted all 10 of Memphis Listening Lab's listening stations with its service, bringing the highest-quality streaming to the Lab's “SoundRoom." Like all of the access provided to patrons of the lab, the service is free.

TikTok launches a dedicated Disney hub for music and more
It involves more than 48 separate handles/brands from within the Disney empire, ranging from Pixar and Star Wars to National Geographic and ESPN. But also Disney Music, with a dedicated ‘Disney100’ playlist on TikTok drawing on music from the company’s full back catalogue. Everything will be gathered into a Disney-themed hub on TikTok.
TIDAL Owner Block Acquires Music Financial Services Firm HIFI
Launched in 2020 with backers such as Diplo, Quincy Jones, 3LAU, and G-Eazy, HIFI enables clients to track their royalty income from multiple sources, including publishers, distributors, and performance rights organizations. The acquisition will allow HIFI to “further our shared purpose of economic empowerment with the financial technologies and services we have built to help artists thrive.”
Spotify House Unveils Program For SXSW Sydney
The program at Spotify House starts Wednesday, Oct. 18, with a morning session titled “A&R in Focus,” which will see 88rising’s VP of A&R Eva Trifonas chat with Kossy Ng, head of music SEA at Spotify.
Next up, the previously-announced “In Conversation” with Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s global head of editorial, with a K-Night showcase capping the evening with performances from So!YoON!, JUNNY and Sam Kim.
