Spotify Now Has 100 Million Users Worldwide
Today is an exciting day for Spotify, as the Swedish streaming platform has just hit a rather impressive milestone. A representative for the company confirmed in an email that Spotify now has 100 million monthly active users around the world. Of those 100 million users, only 30 million are paying for the ad-free, premium experience, but that number is rising right alongside those that choose to listen without paying.
Just before the end of 2015, the company revealed it had 89 million monthly active users, so this latest announcement shows some incredible growth. That timeline indicates that Spotify is adding just under two million new users every month, and that in just the first half of 2016, over 10 million people have signed up to use the platform.
