Spotify Stations, Spotify’s lightweight listening app that offers easy access to curated playlists, is shutting down.
A company email hit inboxes today regarding the beta app they’d been testing all this time since the debut.
We have decided to not extend the rollout of this experience, and we wish to inform you that as of May 16, 2022, the Stations app and web player will no longer be available.
The Stations app first arrived on the market, initially for Android users in Australia, back in 2018.
The app was designed for those who want a more radio-like experience, rather than having to seek out music or customize their own playlists — both of which take time and effort.
To try and help ease the pain for certain users who might be bummed about the move, Spotify did note that Spotify Radio provides a similar easy listening experience.
